The middle layer

Two mirror algorithms for four edges.

Next, the middle layer: four edges with no yellow on them. Find a top-layer edge without yellow. Turn the top until its front color matches the center below it. Here it's green over green, like an upside-down T. Now look at its top color. Orange. The orange center is on the right, so the edge goes to the right. U, R, U prime, R prime, U prime, F prime, U, F. It slides down into the middle layer, and your first layer is untouched.

If the top color matches the center on the left, use the mirror image. U prime, L prime, U, L, U, F, U prime, F prime. Right side or left side, it's the same idea, reflected. And if an edge is stuck in the middle layer the wrong way round, insert any top edge into that spot to pop it out.

Your turn. This edge needs to go to the right.

Right into place.

And this one goes to the left.

Mirror image, done.

Now solve the whole middle layer. You'll need to look around the cube to find every edge.

Two layers solved. Only the yellow layer is left.
